Privacy policy
Effective date: 1 January 2026. This policy explains how Sapra Law Professional Corporation collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Who we are
Sapra Law is a family law practice operated by Sonam Sapra, a lawyer licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. Our office is based in the Greater Toronto Area and we serve clients across the GTA, Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge, Hamilton and Niagara Region.
Personal information we collect
We collect only what we need to advise and represent you, including:
- Contact details such as name, address, email and phone number.
- Identification information required by the Law Society of Ontario for client identification and verification.
- Details about your family and legal matter, including information about spouses, children, income, assets and debts.
- Payment information for retainer and invoicing purposes.
- Website usage information such as pages visited and general analytics data, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use your information
- To provide legal advice and representation.
- To comply with our professional and regulatory obligations.
- To manage retainer agreements, billing and trust accounting.
- To communicate with you about your matter and firm updates you have asked to receive.
Confidentiality and solicitor-client privilege
Communications between you and the firm are protected by solicitor-client privilege and treated with strict confidentiality. We only share information where you consent, where required by law or where necessary to advance your matter.
How we protect your information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including secure practice management software, encrypted storage, access controls and staff confidentiality obligations. No system is perfectly secure but we work to protect your information with reasonable care.
Retention
We retain client files for the period required by the Law Society of Ontario and applicable limitation periods, typically at least fifteen years after the matter closes, after which files are securely destroyed.
Your rights
You may request access to your personal information, ask us to correct it or withdraw consent for optional uses. Requests can be made in writing to sonam@sapralaw.ca.
